Year
End Giving Opportunities
As we approach the end of
calendar year 2007, many parishioners consider giving
charitable contributions
to their favorite organizations. We hope that you consider
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic
Church as one of your favorites. Here are a few ideas
to help maximize the
benefits of offering your financial support for you and our parish.
Christmas Envelopes
There
is a Christmas envelope in your December packet. We hope that you will maintain
your regular weekly support along with making a special Christmas contribution. Please
give
generously. Our budget is based on using both envelopes.
Stock Contributions
Appreciated
stock is a great way to make a contribution AND perhaps maximize your tax benefit. You
may eliminate substantial taxes on capital gains realized between the date
you purchased
the stock and the date of the contribution.
Direct Contribution for Operating and Capital Campaign Support
You may
wish to consider a very convenient way to offer your regular and sustaining support through our electronic giving process. Automatic deductions can be drawn from your checking or savings account each month. You don’t have to worry about writing weekly
or monthly
checks – it’s all handled electronically! Forms are available
in the parish office.
IRA Charitable Deduction
Under the Pension Protection Act of 2006, anyone age 70.5 or older who has an Individual Retirement Account (IRA),
may make a direct transfer of those IRA funds to our parish.
The transfer may be up to $100,000 in the calendar year. The legislation
provides that
this opportunity will be available ONLY until December 31, 2007. This
tax incentive regarding IRA contributions provides a marvelous gift opportunity for senior parishioners owning IRA’s.
Employer Matching Funds
You may wish to consult with your employer to determine whether a matching gift from your company can double the value
of a contribution to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic school.
“Opening New Doors” Capital Campaign
We have created a special capital campaign account separate from our regular operating fund. If you wish to offer a contribution before December 31, as a payment on your 36-month commitment, we welcome
your generosity and support.
Please contact Father
Stephen in the parish office (320-597-2575) and he will be happy to provide the appropriate resources you may need to complete
your gift.
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Thank you!
